As long as it’s not a surprise cameo of Freddie Lennon trying to promote the That’s My Life single…Let him stay. He’s got a carnation at least!

    Pete Shotten lower left?

  3. Dirk says:

It was 1968 Hey Jude David Frost Show

  4. Lizzie says:

He was a bum/drunk who used to hang out outside the studios where the boys edited MMT in Soho – at least that’s where I remember seeing him for the first time. He was asked inside the studios (there are several photos) and later on he ended up that day in the filming. I mention him in my diary. I will ask my two friends who were at the filming and see if they have anything else to say about him. His name is Bill. Thanks for all the great pix, Miss Tam, and I hope you get better soon!

Lizzie comes up with the goods yet again! A little piece of info that probably nobody else would remember. You probably thought you’d never see Bill again, and now here he is, nearly fifty years later.

This is why I love coming here…….

  7. Guus says:

Take a look at the ‘editing’ photo’s of MMT, the same guy is there

  8. Guus says:

Sorry Lizzy, I reacted before readinng your Post…

  9. How blessed are we to have a friend here who was there. Sometimes I ponder the whole ‘Beatle thing’ and think it’s a dream, something like The Wizard of Oz, was it real?, did that really happen?. I was born a bit late, so the best I got was to be sprinkled with a little magic dust from the comets tail, but Lizzie, you rode the comet, you literally went to Oz! :-)

  10. kwai, not sure but i think that is shotten. looking at the pic i wonder if john was still mad at him for suggesting to Paul HJ should be on the A-side, instead of Revolution :-)

Tammy, you just found the right words in a very nice way to explain it. I’ve told to these I told those lucky witnesses that for me it is as if they had encountered extraterrestrials. John especially, the one with the nose fantastic … and that voice so capable of touching the heart … really existed? Someone ate a fetatpiece of cake with him? For me it’s a fairy tale. A fairy tale to be read and to listen to every day.

  12. man, this guy and then there’s Magic Alex too? The lads were picking subpar company to hang with during this period. i say blame it on the tea :-)

  13. Chris says:

    Hi Lizzie,
Thank you for that explanation. I have seen him in several Beatle photos and always wondered who he was.

  14. Billy Budapest says:

Why do I see the image of a fat man in the wood of that piano?

  15. Lizzie says:

Hi everyone, I hadn’t seen these comments before. Please don’t compare this funny old drunk with Magic Alex! As far as I’m concerned, MA was a total fraud and I can’t believe John was so naive as to fall for all his s-h-i-t. And as for being there in the late 60’s… that is the reason I am going crazy working on this book. If I do nothing else on this earth, I have to share those moments and photos with you all. I am totally aware of the fact that I (and many of my friends) was very lucky. Denise and I couldn’t have timed our trip any better, and the boys have become so HUGE over the years it’s difficult to imagine, for instance, Paul inviting me into his house to lend me a cassette tape recorder. I have to get back to work. Scanning is my middle name! I just scanned a letter from Chris O’Dell and another one from Apple telling me which store carried the “Nothing’s Gonna Change Our World” album: Couldn’t they have mailed a copy of the album to Gayleen and me? A bit on the cheap side, maybe? Don’t complain, Lizzie. You sang with The Beatles, shut up! (I am copying this audio bit I heard from Paul saying something like “It’s the bloody Beatles White Album, shut up!” which I thought was funny…
