Tshirt says Fab Four Fun Club . 1977 Acapulco record convention.

January, 1977. George and promo reps from Warner Brothers went to Acapulco for a record convention. George and Olivia got to sneak up to the room where Howard Hughes stayed just before he died. Some of Hughes’ artifacts (a few which are pretty gross) were still in the room.

    Startled…then, relieved.
(I thought the guy in the center was Jerry Rubin)

Beatlefest – I met Mark Lapidos once at one of his early ‘fests. He’s not a particularly nice fella.

I see Mark Lapidos all the time at the New York City book signings. To me, he always seems to be “out of it” Like a stoner or something. His wife is nice. For some stupid reason, Beatlefest has become so expensive to attend! For 2014, $79.00 for Friday night? Really?? Instant Kash? Gimme a Freakin’ break!

Hangin’ with a Fab; so easy, even a caveman can do it.

Mark Lapidos! During the ‘fests at the Westin Bonaventure, he always seemed to want to be recognized, but didn’t want to be bothered by the mere mortals present. Oh well, those ‘fests from ’76-’86 were fun.

don’t tell me that you thought mark lapidos organizes beatlefest for love to the fab4

    Yeah Nick,
M.L. probably sees an opportunity, Beatle Fest in NYC on the actual Beatle weekend. Why not ? Haven’t been to a convention since the first two back in the old Commodore Hotel, which is I believe the same place as this years convention. I will go , it is a very special anniversary and I want to be part of it. Probably take my sons on Sat. Feb. 8th. 50 yrs of being a fan is a pretty big milestone to me. It does not feel 50 yrs ago wow.

I have nothing against Mark. He has always been pleasant to me. I enjoy going to Beatlefest in Chicago and I am glad that he has them. The prices are high, but they are comparable to the ticket prices for most other fan conventions. He runs a good convention. I recall one year Mark wasn’t there because he was in the hospital and things did not run smoothly without him. I wish I could make a living doing Beatles stuff.

How cool would that be Sara. You wouldn’t even care if you never got rich because you would never retire anyway. Getting paid to do Beatle stuff nice.
