In my opinion, one of the greatest live concerts ever filmed. Beatlemania in full-throated roar, and the band not yet jaded by endlessly repeating themselves over and over. One of those rare events where audience and performer are fully involved, and it shows. Despite the technical faults, both on the stage and in the filming, I’ll take this over Shea and the Budokan every time. Special merit goes to Ringo, who plays like a fiend throughout and clearly relishes every minute of it.

Not sure I would take this over Shea, certainly Budokan. But Washington, as you stated mcarp, is a powerful performance. One of the key moments in Beatle history.

  3. we lived 30 minutes from there. i couldn’t go, i was only 2. my sister went though. damn her.

    Us and them.
    Me and Youth.
I see few if any attendees representing the community’s under-aged fans.
    No unclaimed tickets at will-call…
    NO requests for refund???
The place should have been weeping tears of sorrow…
since it’s now cool to be young.
Starting now, America has something that can’t be bought
    and won’t die til it’s been abandoned…
    Thanks, Liverpool!

@Guus: The vid that comes with the big box set on iTunes is pretty good and it’s complete. I’m sure if you dig around a bit you can find a copy.
