i had the pleasure of seeing victor’s speech at a beatlefest in the us (either new jersey or chicago, can’t remember). he was simply wonderful, the best guest i ever saw there! and i agree, this is a great photo.
Saw him in Las Vegas in 2007 and loved him.
Lizzie I am in New Jersey. I’m sorry I missed meeting both you and Victor.
I too got to meet him in Vegas 2007. Posed for a pic… he seemed a lovely guy. What a thrill. Don’t remember seeing you there, Chris. Ha ha!
I chatted with him too in 2007 in Vegas. I had to ask him “what did you do with that sweater from AHDN?” He busted out laughing and said “I gave it AWAY!” I’m guessing he’d been asked that a thousand times. I also asked him what he said as the MMT Sergeant. He told me he ad-libbed most of it. The new MMT DVD’s subtitles only show “unintelligible” and “get your bloody haircut!” Does anyone know the entire dialogue?
this was a loooooong time ago, chris!
He was a fantastic raconteur in Vegas. That man was none too fond of Heather Mills! My girlfriend and I ran to the dealers room to try to find an appropriate piece of Victor merchandise to get signed along with his autobiography. As it happened, we found a vintage Beatles trading card from AHDN with him in it, which he happily signed.
Meeting him was part of one of the most surreal moments in my life. In the span of 10 minutes, in one small room at the Mirage, we met/spoke to/got photographs and autographs from Denny Laine, Denny Seiwell, Laurence Juber, Victor Spinetti and Pete Best. Our heads were spinning afterwards! Actually, they’re still spinning.
Wow, nice Beatle moment Chris !!
