what’s up with the first pic? Is that real? That looks like Paul in ’63 looking at the Two Virgins album cover from ’68. Very confused but intrigued…Tammy any info???
That must be the back room at a very hip record store. The employee(?) has just opened a full (25 retail units) shipping carton of U.S. Two Virgins. He must have paid for one…for the white dot at right edge is the paper sticker that ‘sealed’ the record inside. It must be torn/cut to get the brown paper sleeve off and thereby ‘humble the two great saints’…
I wonder if the white album cover was ever part of the hullaballoo…(add to the confusion). November is a long way off…but the poster did contain an outtake from the Two Virgins photo shoot…and, a Lennon line drawing of the Two Virgins cover…and, that little picture of Paul naked. Also, the poster was both censored AND edited(depending on country of origin). The U.S. poster had a ‘clean’ version of the line drawing. While the Australian poster was edited to remove the line drawing, the outtake of John and Yoko in bed, AND the little shot of Paul. I’m not sure if that is still the way they issue it down under. I only have one copy.
It seems like there should be a lot of white album covers that have some corners peeled back where people were trying to reveal the hidden cover beneath(of the naked Beatles and their wives). The clever marketing ploy is not outside the realm of possibility.
Another good question is what is circa-73 Paul doing with a copy of it? Is he autographing Denny’s copy?
this cover made history. both shots perfect historical, thank you for sharing.
This picture was photoshopped, the original does have Paul looking at that Sleeve, but you can only see a bit of it
You can see that original Picture here

Very interesting….both pics
Paul must have pulled his copy out to play as the background music for a romantic, candlelit dinner with Linda, during which they looked out the window and saw some lambs gamboling
and he sang
as he shoved
that jumbuck
in his tuckerbag
you’ll come a waltzing
Yoko with me…
Odd why someone should go to the effort of photoshopping that—why? to make more of the John/Paul myth?
Unusually long and strangely tapered cigarette being smoked by Linda
Hahaha, I didn’t spot that
