Has Paul ever said what it is — specifically — about shoes that he does not like?
Just curious. So many photos exist of him without shoes (and not just the famous one). I always wondered why, in that photo of them doing the MMT sequence for I Am the Walrus, Paul took his shoes off and is in his stocking feet. You can see his shoes next to Ringo’s drums. And there’s that lovely shot of Paul with the painted toes (taken by Linda, and no doubt toes painted by Linda). All sorts of photos are out there of Shoeless Paul.
So what is it? Does he have foot pain? Arch trouble? Sweaty feet? You’d think after all this time, someone would have asked him about this. Inquiring minds want to know.

That was to keep conspiracy about Billy Campbell alive. Paul used to like wearing shoes but Bill – nope!
Maybe, he hides the contraband in his shoes…thus, he must have just arrived home. And where’s my Mexican Okra plant that was growing here?
An assistant must be stuffing the okra into the shoes (we could’ve been called The Shoes), while Paul serenades the garden to help it grow faster?
