I think his long stringy haired stage was his worst.
Was this from the Japan Press Conference?
I believe John had dressed conservatively to make a good impression with Yoko’s family.
Does anyone know if any video or audio footage from this press conference exists?
He reminds me of Buddy Holly with this look.
Not the worst… The 1970 cutting off this long hair with scruffy beard look (Instant Karma video) was worse.
I must admit too. John’s very weird in those pictures. He combed his hair differently for some kind of an occasion. Lennon’s best haircut for me is from ‘HELP’ period.
I wouldn’t say it’s John’s worse hair style. He looks a bit like an Ivy League Professor to me. Dr. Winston of literature for Princeton University.

I belive this is from the Tokyo press confrence, i *hope* when Chip and Scott’s book comes out that this will be all sorted, i’m always confused with this time period, there are photo’s of John and Yoko that look almost identical to these, but they were at a Rod Stewart party (!?) .. and HOW can John and Yoko hold a press confrence and not one second of audio or video has ever appeared, especially from Japan .. the home of audio and video equipment, throw me some bones please.
Even John’s worst is not *that* bad. I mean, at least he never sported a Macca Mullet or a Harrishag. And I agree with you Alex… the first thing I thought when I saw this photo was, “He looks so much like Sean!”
For me, his worst hairstyle was Abbey Road’s
Cara: I beg to differ. John’s hair in 69 (for example in the Something promo video) is worse than anything Paul ever sported. It’s long and stringy and unkempt and he looks vaguely like he hasn’t bathed in a while.
And Macca rocked the mullet like no one’s business.

I like Paul’s Mullet. He could be bald and still look good.
Aw…it’s not that bad. It’s kinda “how I won the war” only curly.
Kth is right…he looks very “Private Gripweed” (Was that a name Richard Lester and John came up with). I always thought this look was from the day he got his green-card. We don’t see many National Health issued glasses over here…I thought RayBans would make him Judicial-Friendly.
I really like this hair style on him. I mean, it’s very professorish, but he still looks very cute.
I personally think John’s hair looks fine compared to the 1972 photo of him during one of the Kyoko custody trials. That was just weird, even for John.
