THE LAST PHOTO:

This is the last photo we have of Paul and Linda together, they were in Romont Switzerland in mid March 1998 to attend an exhibition of stained glass that Linda and Brian Clarke (seen on the right) had collaborated on. The couple traveled here immediately after Stellas Paris fashion show. I can’t help but note Paul is wearing his old heringbone jacket he purchased in the sixties, and has worn through the decades, especially during the ‘funky’ period with Linda. It’s hard to fathom that only three weeks after this photo, Linda would be gone.

I love this smile of Paul`s. They were so happy together, god, why life has to be so cruel? :-(

very sad… i remember that coat very well. on another sad note, i just read that noel charles, cynthia’s husband, died of cancer in his sleep yesterday. poor cyn, she looked so happy with him! i am in london, studio 2 at abbey road yesterday was FANTASTIC, spent the whole day there, got up onstage and briefly told my story, met some wonderful people, including a lovely friend from this blog but of course i forgot his name. i am sick with a cold and staying home today. i am MAD – i am in LONDON and have to stay home because of this stupid cold! xx to all.

Lizzie it was me (Jay) and my mate John. Couldn’t believe we bumped into you…surreal, AND in studio 2 too..!! So glad you got an opportunity to get on stage and tell your remarkable story of being at that “Across The Universe” session. Should have bought you a beer or something after but forgot to ask you… Sorry to hear your unwell – it is freezing in the UK right now – try and enjoy the remainder of your time in London and safe trip back to Brazil…(Those photos you showed us were fabulous).

The above photo is very poignant…Life can be so, so cruel at times.

Tomorrow, March 12, would be Linda and Paul’s 44th wedding anniversary.

Aww what a sweet photo… Linda looks great, and Paul has this lovely smile on his face. Hard to believe it was near the end.

Lovely pic, indeed. About Lizzie says about Noel Charles dead, (Cynthia’s husband) it a very sad new. I met both in Almeria (Spain) in 2006 and they seemed so happy and so in love… He had also a great sense of humor. Rest in peace.

This pic is definitely lovely, but it also looks very sad to me. Paul looks as if he’s forcing himself to smile. Definitely one for the “life is so unfair” pile – two such madly in-love people.

  12. Ishie says:

It’s a lovely photo and one that I have never seen before. They were a “golden” couple by any standard. Linda, just by being Linda brought her husband, family & friends warmth & joy. I’ve read so many kind words and tributes to her over the years. She was greatly loved & respected.
I read Julian’statement about Noel’s passing earlier today. Cyn had finally found her ‘soul mate’ and a partner that she found happiness with.
May memories of times spent with Noel comfort her.
    Peace to all.

linda must have been cold natured, she is always carrying a coat…………or maybe she was going to give it to someone else who needed one. she was so special, wish I could have known her !

  14. Tammy says:

This was early spring, plus she was terminally ill on medication, so i dare say she was feeling the cold.
