Yeah, that must be from that session, I thought about it too. Whenever I used to look at that picture I was thinking that Paul was after smoking pot on it, cause of his red, stoned looking eyes, I never realised it was just made in a pool
I don’t like it at all when people suggest Paul was stoned all the time in the 70th. He wasn’t! His children wouln’t have turned out so well as they are if he was.
wasn’t it Stella or Mary that gave Dad the title “Off The Ground”
…as a direct reference to his favorite way to relax…

I do not believe Paul was stoned. He looks like he just dipped in a pool and decided to get out because he was cold. If you observe closely you can see the droplets of water on his face and his hair appears like someone splashed water on him.
PUH-lease!! I’ve spent my fair share swimming lap after lap in the most chlorinated pools you could imagine, sure my eyes would red up a little, but all it takes is a nice cup of tea, and a judge who is a great guy, and my eyes are as red as cherries. Macca was a stoner par excellance, pool, plus tea and this is the result
I adore Paul-in-a-pool shots. But he looks so sad here. Broken heart will do that to you.
