GREAT shot – not seen. looks like it was taken shortly after the LP’s release in Aug 1966 – and a MONO copy, to boot.
Who was the next album cover for?
I think he did “Idea” for the BeeGees…
I’m just wondering if he jumped straight into another ‘job’…
(the way Michael Cooper did with Satanic Majesties)
A proud moment for Klauss indeed. ‘Beatle cover designer’ is not something seen often in a resume!
Klaus did the “Bee Gees 1st” album cover in 1967, Kwai, although it wasn’t a patch on his creativity for Revolver
I think that makes Klaus twice as nice. Mainly, because the Bee Gees 1st album is a classic. I would even go out on a limb to say that ‘Every Christian Lion Hearted Man’ is a fairly legitimate progression in psychedelic soundscapes from the final grooves of Revolver. The rest of the album is fairly anti-septic…but, that song makes up for it!
So much for musicianship. Fate must be a paintbrush or a pen-set.
I was very lucky to meet Klaus in person back in the 1990’s and I had him sign the front of this album & JLPOB album. Nice man.
Same here. Met & chatted with Klaus in Liverpool 2000. Very nice man, down to earth & easy to talk to, considering his Fab famousness! He graciously signed my Revolver LP cover that still hangs proudly in my house. Too bad his book is only available in German, I would love to read it.
Revolver is one of my favorite albums to listen to and to enjoy the artwork. Klaus Voorman is a genius in art and music. I loved his bass playing and other instrumentation in Manfred Mann and John Lennon’s early solo records as well. Budd
