Late March 1974 in New York, only a day or two before flying to L.A. and meeting John for the first time since 1969!

It’s lucky the Eastmans had a left-handed tennis racquet for Paul to use; you don’t normally find them on non-professional courts unless the owner is also left-handed.

    sign the dotted line

Not exactly a photo Paul would have wanted out in the 1970’s! Paul probably was discreetly requested by John Eastman to put on a knit collared shirt and not the Jimi Hendrix tee-shirt Paul originally had on.

But new wife Nancy see no problem there, “Why Paul let the riff raff go eat cake.”

Meanwhile, the prologue arrives late for the event…
but, only an hour earlier the three gents sat in the breakfast nook of the manor enjoying their Rice Krispies and reading the financial sections of the biggest newspapers. Suddenly, the patriarch Eastman stops eating.
“Paul, when we finally do accept you into the family, it will be because your arms are almost hairier than mine. I know you love Linda…but, that is secondary. I changed my name to Eastman to protect the crest. That will be your obligation as well. You’ll never be an Epstein but, you must dedicate your loyalty to her. And don’t call me Leopold…EVER”
