i LOVE these! i’m so glad i found the negatives i made back in the 80’s and could scan them! i had an album with lots of photos (the ones from how i won the war and many others) in 8×10 but it disappeared from my house years ago. there was a guy at beatlefest in new jersey in the 80’s that had the most amazing photos from original negatives/slides. we used to call him “mr. mafia” because he was an older man, a really strange guy, and we couldn’t figure out how he could have access to SO MANY amazing photos. i spent way too much at his table every year. i even went to his (very strange) office, where i saw much more of those photos.

I know exactly what vendor you are speaking about in NJ. The photos that he sold were incredible.
Great ‘War’ photos of a sun baked John!

Kind of looks like the thinner 1980 John, don’t ya think?

    And, so…
the fat Elvis never developed a real suit of ‘armor’…
legend has it, that the LARGE one might have become HUGE within a year.
But, things were hectic…he started going to the dentist…he started acting like a gripweed…he started to relax and float downstream. That’s all it took to convince everyone…that nothing is real. We never saw Fat Elvis again. We looked everywhere…no fat budgie…no teddy bear…
    No Heartbreak Hotel!!!
After that, we quit looking for him.
The last song I heard him sing went like this:
“Every girl I see looks good to me…
what a wonderful farout way to be…
I live my life full of beautiful women…
    Now, I’m Yoko Happy…yes, I’m Yoko Happy
    (can’t you see???)”

…and, nothing to get hung about…forever

Pete F. you hit the nail on the head with the 1980 similarity; I agree
