11 May 1967 – Studio One, Olympic Sound Studios, London, The Beatles were working on Baby You’re A Rich Man.
No it’s not that session – this is a Marianne Faithfull session at Decca Studios, May 1967 – that’s Glyn Johns in the middle. The pic was taken by Gered Mankowitz. I think the date could possibly even be 19 May – after the Sgt Pepper party as Paul is wearing virtually the same clothes as he wore there.
P.S. The song that was being worked on was Marianne’s version of When I’m 64 for a Decca single which was never released. That Beatle site has got the location completely wrong – it’s Decca Studios not Olympic – you can tell from the layout of the control rom.
OK! thanks for the correction!
Paul still coming down?
That party was a bender!
Same coat, Kwai!
I found this in a nearby tire track(above):
“Paul is wearing virtually the same clothes”
So, really…the thing is…how many days ago was The Party?
It really looks like Paul is (still) on his way home from there.
Please pass the patchouli…
Paul could have visited the session BEFORE the Pepper party. I’ve never seen an invite to the bash at 24 Chapel Street so don’t know what time it started. With the press contingent present one would assume it was during the day.
I concur. That is Decca Control Room Two. They are standing to the righ section of the mixing desk (i.e. the photographer is standing behind the central section of the desk).
Waves to Mr Horse!
