hollywood is so lazy
OK, let’s pinpoint what car this is. It’s too late for it to be Ringo’s Facel Vega, and it was red anyway. The Mercedes 600 didn’t have the wooden wheel or wipers like that. Does anyone else know what cars Ritchie drove during this time?
according to Hilary Kay’s Rock&Roll Memorabilia:
“a record of motor vehicle transactions relating to the Beatles and their colleagues and contemporaries between Nov.17, 1964 and January 11, 1967 listed a staggering 596 vehicles including Aston Martin DB5 for George, Ferrari330GT Coupe and a porsche 912 coupe for John, a Mini Cooper for Paul, a Bentley S3 for Brian Epstein, a Mini and an Aston Martin DB6 for Mick jagger…”
(maybe Ringo is driving George’s 300SEL seen in Let It Be)
I’m worthless on car ID(so good luck)
I know it’s not a Mercedes. I am trying to figure out what large sedans had leather seats and wood wheel back then. Maybe a Quattroporte or something like it. I am stumped and I always thought I had a keen car eye.
Thanks for jumping on this with me. Anyone else out there?
I didn’t think it was the mercedes…(windscreen is too sloped)
there are a few pics in that book of some of the cars…
like a 1972 Chrysler Station Wagon owned by the Lennons and used to transverse the U.S.A. in 1975 by them…
John’ Mercedes 600 Pullman…
George’s Aston Martin DB5…
Ringo’s ‘Tailgate’ mini(customized to hold drumkit)…
and, a Raleigh Super 50 Moped (bought by John from Brian Epstein in January of 1967)…
(someday…there will be the book that you dream of)
