Great story re ‘Silly love songs’, a few years ago i got to spend some time with someone ‘very’ close to John, we talked about Paul’s visits to John in the late seventies, and this person mentioned that John loved ‘Silly love songs’ and actually took it as a message to himself from Paul, in particular the line ‘I love you’ which he saw as Paul saying ‘Even tho you only thought i filled the world with silly love songs, i don’t mind, i still love you’. Pretty cool huh?
Tammy: Your story has made my day. I would LOVE to believe that John liked the song. And I wish the wider world would learn that, too, and stop beating Paul up about that song. Thank you for sharing the story.
I wish Paul would play this song at his concerts nowadays. Great track, no matter what the haters say.
It took a while but I grew to love that song! “What’s wrong with that?”
Gotta love that bass!
Love the bass line and Linda’s vocals too.
