I love that other picture of this, where Paul is sitting forward in the chair, holding his cigarette and staring intensely into Linda’s eyes. You can see the connection between them.
He fancied her and she him … the connection had been made and their future together was destined to be.
Photos such as this (unbeknown to us at the time they were taken) tell their story, simply & beautifully.
Many years ago (1964) to be exact, Jerry Herman wrote a song for ‘Hello Dolly’ with the lyric “it only takes a moment to be loved your whole life long”. That’s exactly what I see when I look at the Sgt. Pepper launch photos of Paul & Linda … (The Bag O’ Nails’ being moment #1) and this, moment #2.
Now, is that any way to treat your white stockings?
Just look at him. I’d be swooning at his feet, too.
Tell me she wasn’t teasing him, you know what I mean.
of course she was, alex, and who could blame her? i know what you mean!
Well it looks to me like HE is teasing her, too.

funny angle on this photo as linda looks like the giantess looming over little paul.
Well she looms large in his legend.
(Sheesh, I have watched Beatles movies far too often.)
No, Louise…you just beat Kwai to the punch!
@Louise…
“Well she looms large in his legend”
…and he in her(s)…
(That wasn’t in the movie)
it was an informal affair, I bet.
