RINGO MELBOURNE 2013:

Miss Tammy last week had the pleasure (doesn’t everyone?) of seeing Ringo Starr in concert in Melbourne, it’s always a treat seeing a Beatle, and this was my first time seeing Ringo. I was able to hide upon my person, and sneak in my box brownie camera, i managed to reel off a few photo’s of everyones favorite stick wielder. I’m breaking my own rules here by posting ‘on stage’ photo’s, but i figure this is a good enough reason for an exception. Miss Tammy would like to say a special hello to all the readers of the blog at the concert who recognised me, and came up and said hello. It was great getting to meet some of you :-)

    Great photos Tammy. Over the years I’ve seen Ringo’s shows several times and they are upbeat and so much fun … The time just flies by! I hope that you had a perfect evening!

    It was a pleasure spending time with you Tammy m’dear – although I did realise after we’d left that hideous waterhole after the show, that I hadn’t said goodbye to you – WTF were you anyway? Powdering your nose I expect. I’m sending air kisses now to make up for it – one for each cheek of course! MWAHs xxxxxxxx Love you

    Miss Marnie, i was in the shitter at the pub .. CHOKING!!, never before have i been subjected to such a foul, fetid, rancid stench!, and it was there before i walked in!. From now on i’m going to stick to the pleasantly odoured gay bars, it’s only the second time i’ve been in a pub, and it was horrific, i crawled out about 15 minutes later when my senses could find an exit.

    Did Richie fulfil your dream of him performing the entire “Bad Boy” album??

  6. Hitachi says:

    All of “Bad Boy” would be 1000 times better than the rubbish he has subjected us to the last 3 or 4 albums :) Give me Mr Misters Greatest Hits anytime over “Liverpool 8″, “Y Not” or as I call it “Y Bother”! or the brilliantly titled “2012″. Never thought Yoko would have more appeal to me than Ringo these days but she does :)

    It was a real pleasure rubbing shoulders with you Tammy! Glad you enjoyed your first experience of the only remaining Aussie 1964 Beatles venue.

  8. Tammy says:

    Alas my dream of hearing ‘Ringo Starr presents Bad Boy’ shall have to wait for another tour, much like my dream of having the hood of my Datsun 500 autographed by Ringo, will have to wait. I tried to sneak it in hidden in my handbag, but it protruded just a little too much and security made me cloak it.

    Miss Tammy, I have only seen Ringo once too. It was his 70th birthday at Radio City Music Hall here in NYC. Anyway, it was a weeknight and of course, me being up early decided to leave right after Ringo did his last song before any encore. Well… was I stupid or what? Right after I made my exit, a certain Paul McCartney came on to sing with Ringo! Almost three years later, I am still kicking meself for leaving early. My one shot of seeing the surving Beatles play live together and I blew it! UGH!!!

    @Hitachi
    Agreeā€”if they stuck to playing what’s on Ringo’s Best Of ‘Photograph’ compilation for example, he’d be a bit more convincing musically. Or a few from ‘Time Takes Time’ (his last convincing album). Noone’s there to see anyone else but Ringo, let’s face it. He’s not even on stage for at least one song each show.

    Interesting too that Todd Rundgren is back again after 20 years. I can’t find the Wiki quote of him saying how mind-numbingly boring and demeaning it was for him to play ‘Yellow Submarine’ night after night. (Poor Todd, and getting paid for it too, shame…)

    But, Ringo, a Billy Idol T-shirt? Was your stage suit not back from the dry cleaners?
