    What’s with two drum kits…
Or, am I just happy to see you?

This would suggest this is Alpha TV studios in Birmingham (UK, natch), Sunday, May 12th, 1963. The band was appearing on ‘Thank Your Lucky Stars’, and this would have been the day Drum City in London delivered Ringo’s first Ludwig kit to him, completely with the first appearance of the Beatles ‘Drop T’ logo. They would have returned to London with his old Premier kit (and the ‘bug’ logo stretched across the kick drum). The logo was removed off and trashed, the drums refurbished, and sold as used. They are now owned by the Hard Rock Cafe.

So this is a moment in history. Amazing photos.

The show was recorded in the afternoon and broadcast on Saturday 18 May 1963. The Beatles mimed to two songs: From Me To You and I Saw Her Standing There.
