Looking again it’s the second press conference the Fabs gave at hotel at London Airport, 8 July 1966 after returning from Phillipines. The word spread to the few fans that hung around that they were inside the hotel and they got mobbed as they left. There’s some well-known B&W news footage of John and Paul being mauled by several girls in jackets scrawled with Beatle slogans.

the picture I’m talking about shows Neil (looks like he’s been punched and may be going down…”ouch”…he’s saying something)…between Neil and Ringo(whose back is to the camera) are two locals…and two more between Ringo and John (who is looking towards Neil) are two more locals…Caption: “Neil gets roughed up by the ‘tough guys’ at Manila Airport. Ringo ducks and John looks startled…”

You can see Brian in the backround just starting to look the worst for wear around this time. At one time he was the picture of smart. He would never appear disheveled. But, by 1966 he was starting to slip a bit. He always hated himself for being homosexual and living with what he thought was a secret. It reakky ate him up ! Do you know his mother is still alive ? She was only 18 when she had him. His father was almost 30 yrs older than his mother. She was at some Beatle thing with Paul last yr.
