    Game ON!
    (Cleavage wars)
    Jon Waters as Ringo Starr…

Ringo seems *very* interested in Ms. Streisand. Maybe the nose knows?

  3. Kwai Chang says:

“Hey, Babbs! Tell you boobs to quit staring at my eyes”

(What??? I didn’t hear you…I was staring at your boobs)

Daniel Ellsberg ACLU Fundraiser, Beverly Hills, Calif, 7 April 73…George was also there, but haven’t seen a photo with him. At least one more photo exists with Ringo.

  5. Kwai Chang says:

    I blew it…
I meant Jon Peters…(Babb’s hairdresser beau circa Star Is Born)
Although this scene COULD use some plastic pink flamingoes…

  6. Kwai Chang says:

The guy on the left looks like Ken Fritz(manager Smothers Brothers) but I can’t be sure w/o beard…

  7. Kwai Chang says:

    Unrelated…
    (speaking of Peters):
I recently noticed that Broadstreet movie was directed by Peter Webb…
    (probably Bernard’s Twin Brother)

  8. Cara says:

Thanks, Jim. I don’t remember hearing about this event. Apparently, Babs sang a whole set with Marvin Hamlisch on piano, including With a Little Help from My Friends.

  9. jim says:

@ Kwai, the “guy on the left” is the aforementioned Daniel Ellsberg.

  10. Kwai Chang says:

    @Jim…
    Thank you, Sire!

Barbra has definitely hooked a Starrfish.
    (Too, bad…catch and release)
    Nice gillnet, though!

For anyone wondering what this odd gathering was all about:

    Timeline: April 7, 1973, L.A.
John, Yoko, George and Ringo all attend a charity fund-raising party in Los Angeles held in the backyard of the home of Universal Studios executive Jennings Lang. The party is a fund raiser for Legal Defense Fund of Daniel Ellsberg, a participant in the recent White House upheavals. Barbara Streisand was the star of the event, singing songs for $1000 bids. Other Celebrities in attendance included Marvin Hamlich, Joni Mitchell, David Geffen, Peter Bogdanovich, Hugh Hefner, Burt Lancaster and Sally Kellerman. The event raised $50,000 for Ellsberg’s defense.
Though George was definitely in LA at that time I have still yet to see one pic of George from this day which has me strongly doubting his participation. But news stories at the time all mentioned him being there so if anyone has any actual proof please come forward.

@Hitachi – I have it first hand from Howard Smith that George was with them.
