I’m so old I can remember watching Mary’s TV series. Even as a kid it struck me as being very, very odd – the BBC had obviously spent a lot of money on it and Mary looked completely overwhelmed and self-conscious. I wonder what happened to her? Many years ago she popped up very briefly in a TV advert for margarine (!) but I haven’t seen her since.
