I’ve never seen this one before! The white bicycle sadly reminds me of the “ghost bikes” memorials they have here–bikes painted all white, permanently locked where bicyclists have died in road accidents.
This one was taken in Amsterdam Hilton. In those days riding a white bike through Amsterdam was very cool. John and Yoko were presented one, but they haven’t been seen outside using it.
Someone (A Provo) has painted the ‘logo’ on the neck of the bike frame. What lucky maid got to clean up the wall-paper? The EMI recording group Tomorrow had a hit around that time called ‘My White Bicycle’ which edified the sub-cultures communal mode of transportation.
My guess is a local bike shop gave this to them? Or maybe someone painted their old bike….
Remember around 1978 the news said that John Lennon purchased one of those pyramid pools?
