  3. Guus says:

Couls anybody help with a date?

  4. Guus, I know there is a correct date out there, I believe this is when they were going to film Raga.

  5. A Car And A Room And A Room And A Room says:

I thought it was 1st August ’67 when they were going off for the LA/San Fran visit. Ringo and Mo were with them on the Raga June ’68 visit but maybe they’re just not in this pic?

  6. Guus says:

no, I have quite a different outfit on August 1st. Must be another occasion….

  7. A Car And A Room And A Room And A Room says:

Thanks, Guus. Then it must be 7th June 1968. The trip to California later in the year, George was clean shaven.

  8. Lynn says:

October 16, 1968 – Departing Heathrow for Los Angeles… Check out photos of recording sessions in early October 1968 (Lewisohn book is a good source) – George was re-growing his moustache. He must have shaved it off again in L.A.

  9. Kwai Chang says:

“I must remaster the white album for the yanks”
    “cue the Smothers”

  10. Guus says:

I think you are correct Lynn. There is another photo of Pattie, wearing the same hat. :)

  11. A Car And A Room And A Room And A Room says:

Thanks for the clarification, Lynn. I thought it a bit odd that Ringo and Mo weren’t in the photo as well (unless it had been cropped, of course).

  12. Guus says:

Ringo and Maureen weren’t with them, George went alome for the Jackie Lomax recordings.

  13. A Car And A Room And A Room And A Room says:

I was referring to the June 1968 trip! Read before you post. :-)

  14. Guus says:

Sorry, first you say you think it is 1st August ’67, next you think it is 7th June 1968 ….

  15. A Car And A Room And A Room And A Room says:

I’ll try be infallible next time.

  16. There is a photo floating around of George and Pattie from this same day, they’re walking through the airport with Alistair Taylor and some other guy.

  17. Guus says:

    Thgis one I guess

7nd Row, somewhere in the middle.

A Car And A Room And A Room And A Room, I tried to help by saying the Starrs weren’t there .. sorry. Won’t happen again.

No worries, Guus, I didn’t explain my thought processes properly. A senior moment! :-)

  20. A Car And A Room And A Room And A Room says:

P.S. What great photos from this day. I’ve not seen any of them before – another reason for me getting confused as to the date. Cheers, you have a fab Fabs site.

  21. What was the 24 hour Fabs recording session George missed?. I think they had a 24 hour mixing session, but recording?.

  22. I wonder if Alistair went to the U.S with them, or if he just accompanied them to the airport?.

  23. Kwai Chang says:

To finalize white album running order and splice it together, I think

  24. A Car And A Room And A Room And A Room says:

Yes, the last mixing running order etc for the White Album – as detailed in Mark Lewisohn’s Recording Sessions and Chronicle. Tam, Alistair did not come with G&P to the US. His job was to see them safely to the aircraft as he did with other Beatle flights. He did go on the Beatles’ Greece July ’67 trip, though.

  25. DaveO says:

This looks to be from August 1967 when he was in San Francisco. He walked around Haight Asbury, playing acoustic guitar to the hippies.
