My first thought was Alice Cooper but it almost looks like he has a moustache in which case it’s not him. Could be the fur on the coat though. Uh oh, I think I need a hobby.

It’s always strange seeing John and James Taylor together, given the weird synchronicity between the two in December 1980.

Chris, i thought exactly the same thing as i posted this photo.
According to a European TV interview with George in 1990 the last time he saw John was circa 1978 when he visited him at the Dakota. George commented on how ironic it was that previously when John had shown only a passing interest in Indian music that’s what John was playing as mood music when George visited.
Hi Datey, i’ve been thinking about the last time Paul visited John at the Dakota, as we know John was up and down like a brides nighty with his moods and his facts. I recently read an interview with James McCartney, they asked him about the Beatle family, he mentioned having very clear memories of being with his parents at the Dakota and seeing John .. i dunno, he was born in 1977, now the weird thing is, even at a ‘very’ young age i have clear memories, so i’m not dismissing James does remember, but i wonder when this could have been.
Oh .. PM me details about ‘Datey Downunder’, i need to see where i’ll be. Everything is up in the air now Ringo is coming.
Inaugural ball 1977, right? I don’t think that dude is Alice or George but I recall seeing him in other photos that night (if in fact they’re the same dude & the photos are from that night). I’m with Car and a Room on John/George’s last meeting.

these photos were taken by the late vinnie zuffante. i scanned them from my collection and am glad everyone enjoyed them. regards from a very hot rio de janeiro night.
I remember Vinnie when he used to sell his photos at Beatlefest in the 1990′s. I bought a couple of his photos. I should try and find them and scan them to Miss Tammy.

I wonder if the negs to all these great photos still exist? Hope so. That matte effect on 70s & 80s photo paper wasn’t the greatest stuff for repro.

hi nick, that’s where i got all my photos from vinnie. i have scanned them all in high res and sent to miss tammy. plus the george tebbens ones. i don’t know what happened to his negs. it’s a shame, since he had some great photos!
i think i am going to send that photo to james taylor. what if he’s never seen it? i met him in new york when he was recording with my good friend and then boss brazilian milton nascimento. i have a lovely photo of me and james – he is such a sweetheart! i know some of the people i met through working with brazil’s greatest stars, who are known worldwide, will be surprised when they get a copy of my book at home (i have all their numbers and addresses), since i never said a word about meeting the boys or being on across the universe. it would have been unprofessional, as i wasn’t there as me, but as someone’s assistant. james taylor, peter gabriel, paul simon and so many others. once peter asher called me at home to discuss the schedule for a recording session with james. small world! james also called – the answering machine picked up and he said “lizzie, it’s me!” – i still have that on tape. peter gabriel also called, and gave me all his phone numbers. lovely people. and i’m a big fan of their music.

I know when I think of all the money I have spent over the years, I could be retired! No joke! I am still kicking myself for not buying more of Vinnie’s photos. I always would say to myself “I’ll get more next year”.
James Taylor with a moustache looks like a sex offender! Sorry….never liked him with a ‘stache.
