It’s so funny now, a half-century later, to see how much that bug motif was flogged by TV producers, etc. How many times now do you see ads for people selling Volkswagen Beatles?
That’s a great one! …. but from what tv performance is it?
That is the question I hope to get answered Guus.
No drum logo?
Saturday 2 March 1963, Didsbury Studio Centre, Manchester, ABC at Large or
Tuesday 9 April 1963, Studios, Wembley, Tuesday Rendezvous or
Saturday 13 April 1963, Lime Grove Studios, London, The 625 Show or
Tuesday 16 April 1963, Granada TV Centre, Manchester, Scene at 6.30.
I think it could very well be the last one.
Totaly wrong, it must be after May 16th. First time George was photographed with his new Gretsch for Pop and Lenny
Your efforts are appreciated.
However, I can’t imagine this OVERTLY masculine symbolism was ever used twice. I mean, the date should be the most well known fact about the picture. Very interesting to find it ‘circa-less’…
‘BELLS’ w/an ‘A’…every date is the same.
Stay cool, Guus!
It must be June the 7-th 1963, Glasgow. STS Studios. TV Round Up .
As often amazed me Vitaliy!! As I’ve never seen pictures of that day, why do you think it is this day? I hope you’re right, because we have solved a (small) secret.
This photograph (with another one) was recently sold on e-bay for US $292.62
By the Beatles’ hairstyle we can assume this photograph was taken somewhere in the middle of 1963 (we have many other their pictures of the same period to compare). We know that this photograph was distributed by Scottish Television Ltd.
Besides for the comparison we have one more picture of the Beatles taken that day where we can see the Beatles with Gerry of Gerry & The Pacemakers and Paul Young, the producer of the ‘Round Up’ show.
THANKS, for the ebay link.
ANYBODY ever seen that book advertised at the bottom of the page:
Up The Beatles Family Tree(1966)
I’ve never seen it…I wonder how informative it is(it might only be 4 pages)
Anyway, regarding the above picture…I’m wondering why ‘5’ ‘beetles’.
Penchant, nuance, pop, circum…(nevermind).
What is mind boggling to me is when I first found this blog…
I thought I had seen ALL beatle photos.
Since then, there have been at least 10X increase in photos.
Just look at that ebay date(above)…There are still new pictures that are 50 years old.
Ringo’s no ‘The Beatles’ drum kit still puzzles me.
I thought the no drum-logo would be the key to the date.
Is that a Ludwig kit?
Thanks a lot vitaliy!
you write: “Besides for the comparison we have one more picture of the Beatles taken that day where we can see the Beatles with Gerry of Gerry & The Pacemakers and Paul Young, the producer of the ‘Round Up’ show.”
If you have it, could you share it here:
Thank you very much Vitaliy !
P.S. I Love You
