Absolutely gorgeous in that period. And it was 1979 Paul who created the weird yet wonderful McCartney II. Fantastic record that FINALLY got some critical appreciation with its reissue last year. About f—ing time, as Stella would say.
Arrow Through Me is amazing. I was never a huge Wings fan until I heard that track & realised how much buried treasure is waiting to be discovered in the McCartney back catalogue. This is why I’ve been enjoying the recent reissues so much.
Steve Holly & Laurence Juber were great additions to the band. Such a shame this line up only recorded one album together, they really could have gone on to do great things had Japan not got in the way…
I loved 1979 Paul. He looked so healthy and happy. Still a youthful and baby faced Beatle, then aged 37.
