It’s mind-boggling just how much material from this era was wiped by the BBC. When Peter Cook was informed that he and Dudley Moore’s programmes were going to be scrubbed he even offered to pay for the master tapes. They wiped them anyway, citing “official policy”. Thankfully, common sense prevailed in the ensuing years…
Dave Dexter is the guy who worked at Capitol and laid his own trademark on the Beatles tapes before they were chopped into the American versions of Beatles catalog titles…Think heavy reverb…
Hence the “Capitol” versions on cd. I think the same mentality could only be responsible for taping over classic performances…by anyone!
We don’t have much fog in California…but his head was fogged…so, I thought MORE fog might help him…like Ritalin calms hyperactive children.
Annoying but valuable piece of video information re the 16 June 1966 Top of the Pops item is that there IS a clip of the Hollies performing ‘Bus Stop’ on the very same show
Ooooh different set up here. Is there any footage of this?
Rumours !! of someone in Japan but nothing substantial re evidence…so to see it move for the meanwhile it will have to be a gif!!

The BBC should have hired Dave Dexter of Capitol…a little fog might have cleared his head.
