I may be wrong but is Ringo wearing one of the jackets worn at the Budokan in ’66..? (The white one with the red stripe) I know Paul wore the black jacket with the green lapels from the Budokan during the Pepper sessions, so…

  7. MarkZapp says:

Yes that is the same jacket. He’s also wearing it when The Beatles posed with their “Yellow Submarine” cut outs and at a Sgt. Pepper session where he put it on one of his drums to alter the sound. Photos of this are in “Beatles Monthly Book” issues. The mag itself describes it incorrectly as a tea towel. God I really do need to get a life!

Great pic. Nice to see all the fabs smiling.

  9. Tammy says:

Ringo sure flogged that tour jacket :-)

I think Paul’s shoes are cool. This was before the days of ubiquitous trainers, and shoes were worn even in casual situations. I’ve always like the cover of T. Rex’s Electric Warrior album for the same reason – Marc just wouldn’t look the same in Nikes.

I wonder what on earth they were laughing about? Mary sure looks uncomfortable in this photo. lol

  13. MarkZapp says:

A correction. Ringo was not at a Sgt. Pepper session in the photos with that jacket. They were working on “All You Need Is Love” in May 1967.
