Just so hard to believe that only a month later she was gone. Sad.

  2. Kwai Chang says:

    Two Feathers
    One Wing

  3. Alex of Bronx says:

    Is that Linda,
    I didn’t recognize her, poor thing………

  4. Lorne Michaels in backround?

  5. Joy says:

This was a very sad for me also – two months later my beloved angel {mom} was gone also

  6. Lizzie says:

Wow, Nick D, I didn’t realize this event was such a short time before she passed away… very sad.

  7. Kwai Chang says:

    Lorne Michaels?
    Norman Lear’s favorite go-to racist.
It’s not enough to exploit the solo Beatles via insults on SNL
…he’s so slimy, he WOULD want to sit near the McCartneys…
I’m sure he considers himself their(The Beatles) benefactor.
“If you want to give Ringo less…that’s up to you guys”
But, I’m not sure if Lorne would willingly sit behind them.
    He’s a punk!

  8. Heloisa says:

Kwai, Lorne Michaels, in fact, is a close friend of Paul. He’s been seen with Paul and Nancy in several occasions, including baseball games, private events, parties… he was even invited to Paul and Nancy’s wedding reception in NYC.

  9. Kwai Chang says:

Well, maybe Paul likes stuff like Fran Tarkenton’s SNL skit with Garret Morris. It’s a vile example of why I hate Lorne. If Paul thinks it’s good for society…or, funny…it’s not. It’s not really Lorne’s fault except that he would sell his own soul for A DOLLAR. His show has helped tear holes in this country’s values and perpetuating racism is its forte. Sure it’s comedy…
    And Paul is anti-apartheid???
That’s an affiliation that could turn a Beatle into a BOZO.
    Please pass the chitterlings.
    (Hi, Nancy)

  10. Cara says:

Kwai, are you really Marc Maron?

  11. Kwai Chang says:

I’ve never heard of him(Marc Maron)
My real name is Donald. I love Kwai Chang from TV’s Kung Fu(1972).
I couldn’t find the Fran Tarkenton/Garrett Morris clip. Here is a sample of Lorne’s legacy.
The Tarkenton skit was even more tasteless.
    Tacky? Uncouth? Funny?
    Draw your own conclusions…

  12. Nick D. says:

    Donald? Uh?

  13. I think Tony Perkins is in that pic too.

  14. John Belushi never thought women were funny and therefore he felt they didn’t deserve much attention as cast members on SNL. Should we stone him too? Mind you, discrimination should be condemned for the ugliness that is but frankly I’d think of better targets to go after long before Lorne Michaels or Belushi.

  15. Kwai Chang says:

    or, Grasshopper…
My social security number starts with 265-
I was born on Vandenberg AFB in April of 1960.
I live on Sierra Hwy @ Agua Dulce Canyon Road…2.5 miles from Vasquez Rocks(over 100 years of filming history). I’ve live there since 1993…before that I lived in Woodland Hills near Taft High School. I’ve never wanted to work in my whole life. I framed custom homes for 30 years. I haven’t had a payroll check in almost 9 years. I haven’t filed Income Tax since then. If I had to do it over, I would retire right after high school.
    I speak English and Spanish…Ahorale
    And, I love the Beatles…
(that’s how I remember it, anyway)

  16. Kwai Chang says:

    @Johnny Silver…
I agree. IS that Lorne in the picture? I can’t tell.
I don’t hate Lorne directly…I hate how good he is at his job.
He is just an employee. If I could meet Lorne or Paul, I think the more interesting conversation would be with Lorne. I don’t have that many Beatle questions left in my mind. My first question for Lorne would be “Why didn’t you offer them $4000…?”
(This is no time to be cheap)

  17. Kwai I would agree that the SNL Richard Pryor-Chevy Chase “job interview” skit was INCREDIBLY racist looking back on it now. Although when that bit originally aired (’77?) no one objected it to it and it was regarded as one of the peaks of that show. Times have changed. For the good, in this case.

  18. jim says:

    it is NOT Lorne.

  19. Michael says:

I think one side of his face is Lorne… the other side is some other guy.

  20. Jeff says:

“I knew Lorne Michaels. Lorne Michaels was a friend of mine. That’s no Lorne Michaels” (apologies to Lloyd Bensen in his 1988 Vice Presidential debate with Dan Quayle). That’s not Lorne Michaels.

  21. Cara says:

@Kwai – Maron is a comedian who does a celebrated podcast (recently did a one-hour interview with Obama and an upcoming one with Keef). His dislike of Lorne Michaels is a motif that runs through his interviews.

  22. Kwai Chang says:

Thank you. I didn’t know what it meant.
Just to be sure: I want to thank everyone here for tolerating me.
I never meant to talk about Lorne. However, what he has done with SNL makes me think his allegiance lies abroad.
    (Sir Lorne Of Steak???)
    Well done…or rare?

  23. Nick D. says:

I never thought that was Lorne Michaels in this photo. Maybe a heavier George Hamilton. I gotta watch that show with the Hamiltons just to make sure. And @ Donald, thanks for the bio. Very interesting, Grasshopper!

  24. Nick D. says:

I did meet David Carradine once, about ten years ago. I wasn’t too impressed with him…Now..John Carradine…

  25. Kwai Chang says:

    @Nick D…
Thank you. I know Greg Walker(David’s ‘stunt liaison’ for the show). He gave me one of the WANTED posters from the show. I also took Tai Chi lessons from Kam Yuen(Kung Fu Consultant on the show) in the late 80’s. I never met David.

My original comment is the only one that matters, here. This picture is heartbreaking. Life is too short and this is more proof.

You were never more beautiful than my last glimpse of you…

  26. Tammy says:

    Anyway . .

No matter what was bearing down upon Linda and Paul, somehow, probably unbridled joy at watching her daughter become a sensational success, right before her very eyes, Linda looked amazing. With her husband, and three other children sitting beside her, Linda never looked so chic as she did at this event, her final (but one) public outting.

  27. mcarp555 says:

“You were never more beautiful than my last glimpse of you…”

Stop it, Kwai. You’re making the text on my screen all blurry….

  28. Kwai Chang says:

    Thank you.
Never again is a long, long time
    so, alas, goodbye…
    were you ever mine?

Poetry, sincerity, truth do blur rather frequently

  29. Alpha Bitch says:

Yeah… And then she was gone.
