12 Responses to “KITCHEN TABLE:”

  1. This is Montagu Square.

  2. Though the table is, I think, the one originally from the dining room at Kenwood, later to appear at Tittenhurst as part of the last photo session (if that’s not too much information, which it probably is).

  3. Tammy says:

Dear Kenny Lenwood, ‘TMI’ is not in my vocab.

  4. Kwai Chang says:

Is this from the role that produced the white album pic?
    (sure looks awesome)
    levi jacket…where are you???

  5. Nick says:

    Is this by Ethan Russell?

  6. Ishie says:

Nick … I think this is an Ethan Russell photo. I remember another “kitchen table” photo of John taken by him. Some of his photos of John are absolutely timeless.

  7. Jennifer says:

Thanks a bunch for sharing this. : )

  8. A Car And A Room And A Room And A Room says:

Yes Ethan Russell for Rolling Stone mag. Jonathan Cott did the interview.

  9. Nick says:

I thought it was an Ethan photo. I have both his books. He’s also on Twitter and Facebook.

  10. Mark says:

Wow, I always thought this session was in Kenwood, but if KenwoodLennon says it’s Montagu Square, it is so.

Can any similarly knowledgeable person bless us with a date?

  11. Kenny Lenwood is the seer of all the Wey’s and Bridges, maybe Datey can figure something out, or an approximation. Finger snaps to all who can keep track of John and Yoko’s movements around this time, they were house hopping like loco people.

I have another great Ethan Russell pic of John from this time – taken at what looks like Montagu Square – that Tammy posted up a while back now – of John sitting crosslegged on the floor surrounded by old 50s-early 60s singles – and an unfamiliar guitar nearby. The date on it was 23-11-68 but I think John and Yoko may have been back in Kenwood by then after the recent bust/divorce hearing. As far as I’m aware ER did two 1968 sessions with J&Y – one around September-October at Montagu Square to accompany Jonathan Cott interview when Rolling Stone magazine were setting up a London office – and one circa December at Kenwood – the black clothes, cat, etc. Chip M should be able to confirm – come in, Chip …
