KENNEDY CENTER HONOURS:

I love that Paul has stayed so close to his brother in law John Eastman (Linda’s brother, seen here with his wife Jody) i think it’s a great testament to Paul that he’s obviously worked at keeping things thus, even tho he now has a new partner. If you’re wondering what Barbra Walters is doing in the middle of all this, she was presenting at the awards, but she also happn’s to be Nancy’s second cousin.

Well James certainly looks like he’s full of energy.

  2. Kwai Chang says:

Hopefully James is as disgusted as I am! Dad’s rubbing elbows with some of the most shady characters on the planet. Affiliations don’t speak…they swear! Come on, Paul. Is that Hillary Rodenhurst Clinton?
What the….? I always thought fear produced the photos of Elvis and Nixon. Yuck!

  3. John says:

Can someone please tell James to not only brush his hair in the front but also to smile every once in a while?

  4. Lou says:

Kwai: Give it a rest. What does your view of Hillary Clinton have to do with the Secretary of State hosting a government-sponsored award ceremony?

Or are you suggesting that Oprah and Merle Haggard are “shady characters”? Honestly.

  5. Nice see-through outfit Nancy is wearing. I wonder if she knew how revealing it would be with bright lights & camera flashes.

  6. hey_you says:

surprised to see james there and by the looks of it he is surprised as well!

  7. LR says:

James does not look good actually. He seems lost.

  8. Kwai Chang says:

I agree with Lou. Let’s leave politics out of our Beatles!

  9. Greg R says:

I’m going to venture a guess and say that James was just caught by photographer at a particularly unflattering moment, mid-blink. After all, there were probably about a million and a half photographers flashing bright lights in their eyes at that exact moment. The photographer probably picked the most flattering photo of the most “important” people. Either that, or the photographer has a personal vendetta against James :)

As a side note, I’ve always heard that receding hair lines are a genealogical trait passed on by the maternal grandfather, but does anybody else think Paul must be wearing a wig? Or has taken a fair amount of Rogaine? :) I jest, not meant to offend!

  10. Lou says:

Kwai: It’s not politics I object to — just stupid political statements, such as your own.

As to the all important issues raised in these comments: James is not a public figure and doesn’t have to smile if he doesn’t want to. And Paul’s hair is Paul’s hair. I have no opinion on it. People, seriously, get a grip.

Can anyone ELSE just congratulate Paul on a life-time of work well done and leave out the small, trivial bullshit?

  12. hey_you says:

@gregr in the past paul has stated that he started dying his hair fairly early on. maybe toward the beginnig of the wings era possibly. he’s never mentioned thinning hair but then again if he was losing it i’d doubt he’d mention it. the image is sort of interesting. paul with a full head of hair next to james.

  13. Kwai Chang says:

Man, am I glad I didn’t say “The Beatles are more popular than Jesus”. Some feathers are best left unruffled. Peace, Lou!

  14. Carnie says:

Mike McCartney, Paul’s brother, also still seems to still have a decent head of hair, so perhaps the bald gene just skipped a generation(or at least appears later in life). Mike also appears to have been a fan of hair dye, I don’t know about the last couple of years but I know up until 2007 he was coloring it too. :)

Paul’s hair certainly isn’t as thick as it used to be and may not last much longer, but there was never any time period that I recall where he appeared to be “thinning” and then suddenly got more hair(like for example Ben Affleck:)).

  15. jimmmmybrady says:

Luckily Paul is a political dunce, and he doesn’t mind being used for political purposes.

  16. Chris says:

hey_you Paul does have a thinning spot in the back of his head. You can see it on Youtube videos from the past 2 to 4 years. It’s there! And I have the same spot on the back of my head. Knowing Paul has it make sit easier for me. :D I have the rest of my hair though. I’m going to start using Rogaine but I digress.

  17. Chris says:

One more thing. Nancy is HOT!

  18. Cara says:

Linda should have been there with Paul. I’m very happy for Paulie, but when I see him get all these honors, it makes me sad that Linda is not on his arm and that John is not at his side.

  19. Kwai Chang says:

Would Paul be completely ‘Silver’ if he didn’t dye it? That might give new meaning to the term Sterling…and make him even more handsome! Paul’s hair still looks as cool as ever…but is hair dye safe to use forever?
    If I were James, that’s the same expression I’d have…since I would be Dad’s exclusive ‘Cannabis Liaison’…(24-7-365)

  20. charlie says:

I agree, Cara. I think she would have been very proud of him, and sharing these with her would have made them all the more special. Although he looks happy with Nancy, she seems to be really good for him. As long as he’s happy and doing well, that’s what matters.

Look at us, acting like we know them! :)
    All part of the job….

I know this may sound a bit odd, but I believe Paul chooses his partners (since linda anyhow) who have a featured resemblance to John, now Im not saying they are carbon copies in anyway, or its a concious decision, but I always thought that Heather Mills had a very distinct similarity with her nose and Johns, it was quite noticeable, long aqualine, flared nostril type, then you look at Nancy and she too has the long , aqualine nose, again Im not saying everything about these ladies resembles John lennonand I do mean John more in his youth too when he was a “beautiful boy” as Paul sometimes refers to him as being(Im sure they both reminded him of linda too in some ways) but its interesting to think that Paul finds that feature along with the high cheek boned face structure, good jaw line appealing, so do many men too, but I cant help thinking that theres some attraction for Paul with this look, for me the thing that makes sense is that subconciously he finds these similarities somehow connecting and interesting to him probably without him really thinking about it, a bit like when people say we go for people who remind us of a particular parent, eye colour etc ect,in this case its not the parent but a much loved and lost Pal/creative partner etc, perhaps he just gets strength from people with that kind of face?a kind of continuity, who knows and Im just having fun with the speculation, I really do think theres something in it with Paul..that said he also goes for lookers with female attributes most would with his money, fame and availability!good on ya paul!..oops sorry maybe not heather mills though eh?lol

    All I am saying is….

    CONGRATS TO PAUL!!!!
