I’m so glad that Paul never developed the habit of using that bass. It doesn’t look right on him.
yeah, only hofner and rickenbacker looks really right on him;
What about the WAL 5 string?!!
I loved the sound of the Wal and it was great that Macca went with a fiver, but I still would rather see him either the Rickenbacker 4001 or the Höfner. He’s also used a Fender Jazz Bass and that’s one I’m glad has mostly stayed in the case. The Yamaha looked better than a Fender. He also has a black Rickenbacker 4003S/5 and I’ve only ever seen one (posed) photo of him with it.
Still, he sound great regardless of his choice of bass, and, as I age too, I can more appreciate his using the Höfner these days (my back and shoulder say thank you every time I use my Club Bass).
I love the Rickenbacker, Yamaha and Fender.
I absolutely love the sound of the Kay Jazz Bass Special, that bass has a great full sound.
