    Wow, what a strange guitar O_O

    “Where’s me washboard?”

  3. Notice how by 1980 it was hanging almost down to his knees – very punk rock! In 1963, he had it up around his nipples. Similarly with his guitar.
    (My deepest apologies to Angry of Mayfair for the above comment. And everyone else.)

    I am curious as to how John came across a guitar like that.
    What’s the story behind it? was it a present from someone?
    Cool looking gear tho.

    Kenny Lenny, no need to appologise to Angry, the mere mention of .. .. nipples shouldn’t be enough to set him off .. .. or is it.

    AND NIPPLES!!!!!

    Seriously though, what an odd guitar. Could it have been a gift from the designer/manufacturer?

    August 7, 1980: Roger Farrington took some lovely shots of John & Yoko leaving the Dakota & at the recordig studio for the ‘Double Fantasy’ sessions. I have read that the photos will appear in Ken Sharp’s book ‘Starting Over: The Making of John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s Double Fantasy’. I’m looking forward to that!

    @Greg R
    that photo is the front cover of The John Lennon Family Album by Nishi F. Saimaru – good book of photos from 1977 to 1979

    that guitar has to be the world’s most uncomfortable guitar!!

  11. loook… Miami band Forget the Name using a Sardonyx in 1985…

    that guitar was more suited for 80s mullet rock than John Lennon music..
