1970 my dear Tam. Backstage at BBC Top Of The Pops filming for Instant Karma, 11 February 1970.
My goodness look how short their hair was!
I wonder about the subterranean homesick flashcards…
This great song needed no such help…especially when d.a. pennebaker had already edified the technique as Dylan’s own. I would have rather had Yoko singing. She was in tune with the kind of primal expression that this song was built on. Andy White’s drumming is narcotic…so, the potential was there for a sizzling performance. I think it was still a great solo moment, but the sound system sure was low-bid.
Thanks so much for sharing these and all the other wonderful pictures, today. : ) I think these two have become my new favorite JohnandYoko pictures. : )
Great never before seen by my eyes behind the scene pics of John with his Plastic Ono Band from Top of the Pops appearance for “Instant Karma” Shine on !
A slip of the ‘mind finger’ Datey
It doesn’t pay to be short–you end up being your hubby’s arm rest.
Man in black T-shirt is a drummer Alan White (later YES), it is right?
I think I meant Alan White on drums…
whoever he is…he was the right man for this song!
