I just thought I’d mention… We saw Paul this week and in his scrolling backdrop of photos pre show there are many different photographs than last year. Quite a lot of these were new frames of Paul and George standing by the microphone from Abbey Road sessions which I don’t think have been seen in public before.
This is 1968 – circa May-June when the White Album sessions started. I don’t have the Beatles Monthly photos to hand to confirm but I’m sure he wore that same jacket to the opening of Apple Tailoring on the King’s Road, May 1968
I have a few photos of the Apple Tailoring opening in Chelsea, May 1968 and George is wearing a flowery/paisley jacket that is similar to the one in this photo but not the same.
I’ll have to look through my books & magazines to see if I can pinpoint the time of this photo.
Pattie & Jenny Boyd opened a shop in Chelsea called ‘Juniper’ and I have a photo of George at the opening with Paul & John wearing the same jacket.
I think there’s a small photo of George in this jacket on the White Album giveaway poster?
this looks like the orange jacket to me…
You’re right Michael, there is a small b&w photo of George wearing the jacket on the White Album poster.
I must say that George really did have a ‘way’ with fashion. He dressed completly different from the other guys. No matter what clothes he wore they looked great on him.
Beatles monthly 54, pg. 20
George wears this outfit…sitting at Ringo’s drums…
God == he is SOOOOOO SOOOOOO SEXY — -no matter WHAT he wears
