Well, dammit…this picture is just too cool and important to not get a comment.
I wonder if George ever got this “down home” with anyone else (or anywhere else). Is this taken at Bob’s Woodstock abode? It sure looks pretty low-key for a ’68 Beatle. Come on, rake the leaves…George Harrison’s coming over!
It was said, George jammed with members of the Band while he was there. Any information on that? If so, how cool was that and where are the darn tapes!?!
Positive this is from George’s visit to Dylan’s place in Woodstock… Nov ’68 iirc, but I might be wrong about the date.
There are certainly other shots from this visit, i.e:- http://beatlephotoblog.com/chuckles-6
I think Bob and George were actually good medicine for each other at a time when both need the acceptance of a real ‘peer’…
and it seems to be working. They look like little kids here. Very healthy.
Did Patti take the pic?
Is this not the same trip that George visited L.A. and taped Tiny Tim doing “Nowhere Man” that was included on the ’68 Christmas Message? He also did a short appearance on the Smothers Brothers Show, I believe.
This is rather off the topic of the above picture, but I just found this short radio interview on Youtube:
Apparently of George and John in 1974, recorded after George’s show. Anyone heard of this before?!?!
Yes it is, Michael.
Great to see the Car and the Horse back on this site. Valuable info these guys share! It’s like having the key to Apple (the Corps) and sifting through the files. These guys could write the footnotes to the Anthologys. Thanks to you both for your input.
Thanks for the kind words, C3. “Let’s not be L7″ (Macca nuts might get the reference)
Enjoy the company of those two commenters. They are even more than all that. They are real treasure AND real modest. I promise you…opportunity doesn’t come much better than their help. So, teeheehee about your comment…(it made me smile)
C-Moon is he(C3)
Mark, the full interview can be found on Black Cat’s “Money Is The Root Of All Evil”, see it’s bootlegzone.com entry.
@ Kwai….Naw, just a regular guy who happens to play guitar-loves life-and thanks his lucky stars he was born in such a time as this. Not to put too fine a point on it…love is all you need.
