I’ve been loving this photo since it came out. Nice to have it in digital form.

  2. Kwai Chang says:

Avedon would’ve been proud to have taken this. Very fine!

  3. Jorge says:

    Wonder, wonderful

There’s so many good ways to be bad…
and, so many bad ways to be good.
There are beautiful flowers in that rainstorm…

The guy in the back would have really looked cool OUT OF THE FRAME…
but, EVEN better would have been Cynthia OR Yoko followed by respective Beatles and wives. A really untapped concept would have been Maureen behind Ringo behind Patti behind George behind Jane behind Paul behind Yoko behind John…
    or versa vice…
    collect all nine.

Is Peter Brown the “guy in the back?” Looks like it could be.

  6. Cara says:

Wow. So many beautiful John pix today, Tammy. I feel like my birthday’s come early… (Yeah, that looks like Peter Brown.)

  7. Kwai Chang says:

I’m hearing you, loud and cleeeeeeeeeeeeee…
(Today, April 23rd is my birthday…
We’re goin’ to a party, party)
I’ve spent the whole day running from these giant candles that won’t stop chasing me…I think there’s 54 of them. Man, a cake would sure be nice to jump into right now. Anyway, you can see how my morning was a beautiful gift when I clicked on this blog and saw all of that generosity Tammy left for us. THAT is the kind of gift that makes another-year-passing-by not-so-bad….(cake & ice cream only compounds the obvious)
Anyway, thanks to Tammy, everything is mysteriously and VERY much the way it should be…
    Beautiful struggles
    occasional insights
    emotional investments
    romantic dividends
    very ‘heavy
    very ‘umble
    and, NO ribbons and bows
    Awesome, awesome, awesome

I didn’t see this yesterday, Kwai, so here goes a belated Happy Birthday to you, hope you had a lovely day. All the best! 54… you’re a baby… I’ll be 63 next month.

  9. Michael says:

Happy Belated Birthday, Kwai. I hope you had FUN!

  10. Kwai Chang says:

Thanks for the kindness. I can’t really invent the words to explain just what this blog means to me…but, there is NO other place on Earth that gives me reasons to stay hopeful the way that this place does. If I could have ANY gift that I wanted for my birthday, it would be to LET TAMMY KNOW just how much Joy I get from being HERE…
(We really don’t want me to invent words…right???)
    Thanks, Tammy!
I love The Beatles and ALL of their fans!

    divino, me encanta

  12. Many happys Kwai, I turn fifty next year, my work mates were asking how I feel about getting older , and I just said ‘Well, the alternative is pretty shit’.

  13. Lizzie says:

I LOVE this blog and its people too, Kwai! Many times it has saved me from being sad or upset. Laughing at Tam’s captions and all the stuff you people write, plus looking at all these fab photos sure makes my days much brighter. I confess I come here at least a couple of times a day… Love to all. (I might have mentioned that I am going nuts trying to figure out the correct dates for my more than 100 photos for the book…). I say the same thing, Miss Tammy, the alternative to being 63 next month sure sucks! And you don’t look almost 50 AT ALL!

  14. Kwai Chang says:

Beatle music REALLY is a time-machine…
    Age is relative…
People only grow ‘old’ when they abandon their ideals of Youth.

  15. Nick Detaranto says:

Hey, other than a few aches & pains and some extra pounds, I don’t mind being 51. I feel like I am 18! Beatles music keeps me young at heart and mind!!

  16. Cara says:

Kwai ~ I thought of you last week because I was up in Acton buying lilacs. Happy belated birthday, you wonderful, crazy, Beatle poet!

  17. Kwai Chang says:

I was in Acton last week…buying chicken scratch. Now, I would really be excited to know just how close we were to each other. There are no accidents. I live 6 miles from the feed store…(on Sierra Hwy. behind the church @ Agua Dulce Canyon Rd…up on the mountain)
Lilacs, feathers, dirt roads, rattlesnakes…this place has everything
    (Thanks, Cara)

  18. Cara says:

I was at Blum’s Ranch, off Aliso Canyon Road. I go there every April for lilacs and almonds and sometimes I go in October for peaches and pears. Then I go see the poppies in Lancaster. (They’re great this year!) One of my several regular get-out-of-the-city-to-save-my-sanity day trips. A really good reason for taking the easy way out, yeah.

  19. Kwai Chang says:

There are lilacs here on this property. I love gardening…
I have sent pictures of the annual McCartney Garden to Tammy in the past. But, I thought everyone here should know that I now have an designated Lennon Garden that is going strong.
Grower’s Tip: There is no better nutrient for most favorite plants than poultry manure. If you love things to grow fast, big, lush…organic food CANNOT burn a plant either. What? You thought my chickens were for eggs? My TOTAL free-range chicken eggs are too valuable to my health for me to ever buy eggs at the store…but that is secondary to the Lennon McCartney function. They really love Good Morning Good Morning intro and outro.
    You go to the show
    you hope she grows
    I’ve got nothing to say
    but, plant today…

  20. Nick Detaranto says:

Did anyone visit the Linda Blair WorldHeart Foundation located in Acton?

  21. Kwai Chang says:

    @Nick Detaranto…
I have never been there. I know people who are involved with it…

  22. Nick Detaranto says:

Linda is a friend of mine but I’ve never been there yet.
