(that’s the sound of a lit fuse)

  2. Nick D. says:

What date and event was this from?

  3. Over to you Lady Hyacinth . .

  4. Andrews and Ringo were together until ’80. based on that, ringo’s appearance here and elton’s looks i’d say ’79, or ’80 maybe. cassidy was born in 1950 so read into this as you would.

and btw my eyes bled after seeing elliott mintz in this pic, E-frikkin-gads, dude is not easy on the eyes.

  5. Kwai Chang says:

Elliot? I thought it was an 11 year old Van Morrison…

  6. Kwai Chang says:

    That’s Ognir Rrats!

  7. Nick D. says:

Elliot looks much better with his beard that he had in the mid-1980’s.

  8. Hitachi says:

No idea when, what or where unfortunately. Ringo does look a bit Ognirish so maybe 1978 and probably in LA and the unknown guy maybe Uri Geller??? but that’s as much as I can add for this pic..anyone else know anything about it?

  9. Kwai Chang says:

So, it’s a Ringo do. Elton must be touring Blue Moves. Nilsson is looking like Dan Haggerty(Grizzly Adams)…and that does look like Uri Geller(hide the spoons). Nilsson should make quick work of him if he’s not psychic enough…
A nation coming down from a mantra fix…
    Thank God, John missed it.

  10. Kwai Chang says:

    It could always be worse…
that coulda been Danny Partridge instead of Elliot…
“pass da bonaduce on de left hand side”

  11. only other suggestion i found was on another beatles site, which ID’d it as an LA restaurant in ’74. which is obviously way off.

Sorry. Seems to be the hardest word.

  12. ” “I got to know John (Lennon) and Paul (McCartney) well,” Cassidy said. “Ringo (Starr) lived in my house for awhile quite a few years back. Ringo needed a place to stay and he heard I was going to be out of the country for awhile. When I got back to L.A., Ringo had to move out.

“And I met George (Harrison) a few times, too.”

Cassidy got to know Lennon especially well.

“John was a great person,” he said. “I got to play with him sometimes.”

  13. So Cassady is suggesting that when he moved back to LA he had to evict Ringo?

That poor little left handed drummer gets no respect :-)

  14. Kwai Chang says:

Here’s when Elton was in town:
    25 Aug 1975 Troubadour Club
    26 Aug 1975 Troubadour Club
    27 Aug 1975 Troubadour Club
    25 Oct 1975 Dodgers Stadium
    26 Oct 1975 Dodgers Stadium
14 Oct 1978 Century Plaza Hotel
    26 Sep 1979 Universal Amp

    So clever I misseT IT!
The proximity of the David Cassidy handshake seems to have ruffled the little bird’s feathers…or, is that merely a huge slice of ANTICIPATION pie?
Remember…I Think I Love You…strategically followed by the sublime Cherish had set David up to be the next 10 megaton WetPanty Bomb here in the states. The string pullers past him by…but, his ‘legend’ary appeal lingered on!
    So did eventual booze-haggery.
    I love him.
Jack Cassidy warned David “for 30 years I’ve been nothing but Mr. Shirley Jones in this town”…which really only meant:
“if it really is ribbed for her pleasure, then turn the damn thing inside out for yours”.

  16. mcarp555 says:

    I don’t think it’s Geller; I suspect it’s George Hamilton.

  17. Kwai Chang says:

Not enough high cheek bones OR tan to be George Hamilton…

  18. Kwai Chang says:

In Geller’s ‘behalf’…this vintage would be correct for him(or, Hamilton for that matter). If that’s Uri, then this is the pinnacle of his ‘fame’.

  19. Nancy Andrews. Me likey.

  20. Kwai Chang says:

It also resembles a shorn Ginger Baker.
Was he back in L.A. by this time?

  21. mcarp555 says:

“Ginger Baker”? Looks more like Scott Bakula (which is impossible) than anyone else. Geller had much longer hair around this time, similar to Elliot’s.

Maybe it’s the same guy who was in the pic with George a few weeks back…

  22. poor ginger, the dude had missing toofusses galore and had some of the worst hair in R&R history. never saw the guy look as groomed or polished like the dude in the pic.

  23. Kwai Chang says:

    I know it’s a long shot.
I don’t know when he left Lagos…but he lived here in Agua Dulce in the mid-late 90’s. He doesn’t look like Ginger with a haircut and glasses. But check out dude’s clothes! Ginger’s hair was wavier, though.

  24. Kwai Chang says:

    Trousers? Collect calls?
    Yep…it was Ringo(The TV Special)
The air date April 26, 1978 doesn’t jive with Elton’s Century Plaza date.
    Further investigating required.
Who is Elliot there to represent?

Anyway, I’m going to check production crew for the unknown identity.

  25. never understood the BOTR ginger baker audition thing. oot of the 4, paul clearly was the most dominating. and after the henry mccullough situation i dont see paul wanting to work with a personality like GB. sure, Baker owned a studio in Lagos so there’s that connection. but musically, those 2 were so far apart too. all that said, i love Ginger’s drumming, he’s brilliant.

  26. Tammy says:

    I’m almost certain that’s a 78 Ringo. The guy on the right I don’t know, but I don’t think it’s Uri.

Good detective work Kwai, a Datey in the making? :-)

  27. Tammy says:

I don’t think Ginger was ever a contender for Wings, I just think he was also in Lagos the same time as Paul.

  28. Kwai Chang says:

    A Datey in the making?
I’ve never thought so highly of myself.
However, if you like your concision ‘loose’ like John’s books, I guess I could call myself A Pot And A Plant And A Plant And A Plant.
    Thanks, Tammy

Have no fear Datey, I would never(I mean Kwhy would I?)
