Jeff – George had said in a radio interview he went to the Dakota and saw John in 1978.

George confirmed it in a 1990 TV interview, too (the last time he saw John)
John: “Good show but I think I’ve had a little too much to drink”
George: “So have I but it’s ok Johnny, I’ve got you”
…at least that’s my interpretation of the second photo. Old pals/brothers who lived through the craziest mania ever and somehow managed to keep (what was left of) their sanity. God bless both of them.

Question: What did George confirm in a 1990 interview? That he last saw John in 1974 or that he last saw John in 1978?
George confirmed in the 1990 interview that the last time he saw John was when he visited him at the Dakota around 1978
Just finished reading the Lennon Letters book (Hey Hunter, why didn’t you ask me to proof the photos, and a few of the dates and locations, contact me baby for any updated editions) in a few letters to Derek around 77/78 he mentions George visiting and seeing Sean.
a couple things about the ’74 tour:
george allegedly ripped john’s glasses from his face in anger. and also derided him for not being more supportive of him. anyone know if one or both of those things happened the nite of this pic?
Johnny Silver, I believe that story was in May Pangs book, thought it happened in NYC during the Dark Horse Tour , I believe George played the Garden a few weeks after John played with Elton John.

Other than this pic with John and George, my other favorite Beatle meeting is the 2000 photo of George and Paul jokingly trying to make Ringo sip alcohol. Just friends goofing around.

That scar under John’s chin…is that the damage he received from his and Yoko’s car accident in ’69?
I couldn’t find the answer in either my Albert Goldman or Fred Seaman books.
Yup, that’s the scar that stayed visible for the rest of his life.

Thank you kindly for the George 1990 interview link and Wilbury promo. Around 7 minute 20 second mark GH references John and Dakota visit w/ Sean, John cooking, John playing Indian music (100 cassettes). Interesting stuff…
