    Lizzie,
Whats your scoop on this ?
    Were you there ?

hi alex, this was in são paulo, i was not there. he came to rio too, but i didn’t go see him. i was at work (secretary to a major brazilian musician), only a few minutes away (in the same borough). my boss asked me if i wanted to see george as he would call the head of warner brothers (where george was going to give interviews) and ask him to take me inside to speak to him. i became totally paranoid and said, no thank you, and we went to ipanema beach for ice cream. i now realize how STUPID i was. i had been “hanging around” in london for so long, waiting outside for so long, i just thought he might not like to see me or something. you get told off so many times, chased by the police so many times, you are constantly aware that you are not wanted. what i didn’t fully realize at the time is that i would be taken inside the wb offices as a guest of the head of the company, i wouldn’t be waiting outside like all my friends were. i could write another book just about all the stupid things i’ve been doing – all the chances i’ve had of seeing the beatles after i left london and i blew them all by being shy!

    Hey Lizzie,
When the time is right and your book is published instead of getting it from a bookstore I want to buy a signed copy right from you. You are without a doubt the closest person I know to the Beatles and at the time they were the Beatles.(At least that I communicate with anyway) I met John in Central Park in 74 and I have seen Paul, George and Ringo in concerts throught the years but they weren’t the Beatles all solo. You saw THE BEATLES. I can even listen to you on Across the Universe I know a few people in the neighborhood who saw them at Shea Stadium but you have the inside track.
On another pix I stated you saw the Beatles and now you look out your window and see Christ.
    Very Nice.
    Alex

I think “Lizzie” must be Portugese for “luckiest”

alex, i am self-publishing my book, so i guess you can only buy it from me. i haven’t figured out yet if i am going to publish the english version through one of the self-publishing companies or if i’ll do it all from here. it’s being done at a specialized printer who does only art books – i want to make sure the quality is the best possible. don’t worry, i’ll let everyone know. and kwai – there is no lizzie in the portuguese language. my name is elizabeth, and i changed my nickname from betty to lizzie when i heard john sing “dizzy miss lizzy”. those words were really inspiring, i wanted to be that girl! when i grew up and wanted to change back to my original name, couldn’t do it. everyone knew me as lizzie by then…
