Wow!! Finally after 35 years of having a crappy newspaper copy of the first photo I finally get to see a perfect copy of what I regard as one very rare pic. Paul’s hair is shortish, Linda’s is a style I’ve never seen on her before so this has always alluded me to find a date & place for this. It isn’t on tour anywhere I don’t think? How old is Stella in the pic? this would narrow it down somewhat. I’m guessing 1972? but where? Any help appreciated.
Linda had the ability to put things together and create a look that was uniquely Linda. Linda had vision and a sense of self and she wore it proudly. Stella has stated in various interviews that she was very influenced by Linda. A fine credit from a loving daughter to her wonderful ‘Mum’.
I would guess to say the first snap was taken in the late winter/early spring of 1972 because of what they are wearing. Stella must be about 8 to 10 months old, but since she’s barefoot, it must be summer of 1972….
