Captain McKirk of the Starship Polyester…
(to boldly go where fashion has not been before)
I’m convinced Stella became a fashion designer in SPITE of her parents’ unfortunate 1970s wardrobe choices.
Paul wore some of the coolest, most stylish clothes between 1964 and 1967. Paul looked ridiculous most of the time in the 1970s.
I remember a pic of him playing a concert with Wings in the early 1970s in which he wore a pair of white overalls and no shirt.
Then, of course, there was the bathrobe/smoking jacket thing he wore during the Wings Over America tour. Good GAWD.
Sorry JR but I strongly disagree. Paul looked gorgeous in those overalls and no shirt. Absolutely amazing. And I loved the silk jacket he wore during the WOA tour. What do you have against men looking sexy? Because that’s how Paul looked in all of that 70s clothing you mentioned: sexy!
People put blinders on and forget about the many clothes the Beatles wore in the 60s that looked ridiculous. Like that bizarre mix of things John wore during the Sgt. Pepper shoot at Brian’s house.
May 1st, 1974! Attending the premiere of the musical “Billy” that starred Michael Crawford.
JR I agree! I know it was the 70s but still…
Although who could forgot Paul’s dreadful 89/90tour outfits. The bright yellow and black “tiger” shirt with a black and brown striped vest.
Sorry Lee, but John is not Paul. From what I remember of the Sgt. Pepper photo shoot, Paul looked cool in a jacket and scarf.
As for John, I believe he was quoted as saying, “The sporran’s handy to keep your fags in.”
