Good morning Miss Tammy! Wish I could comment on all the fab, gear “new” photos, but that might cause me to lose my job since there’s so many, so I’d better get back to work! Thanks for always providing us with the best photos and the best laughs at all the captions! Beijos (kisses in Portuguese).
John Lennon looks very young there.I wonder if that was before Beatlemania really kicked in in the British Isles.I can say one thing that John looked very relaxed in that photo
I love this blog! So different pics! But the worst thing is: people come here, “stole” photos to post on Tumblr and other blogs, but don’t give credit. Without this blog, the bloggers wouldn’t be nothing. But keep the work! I love, especially John’s pics!
Leo has made me curious about something Lizzie could probably explain (since she is writing/preparing a book of her own Beatle snapshots). Do pictures get copyrights, patents, etc? Or do the people pictured in the photos own the rights and must give their permission to the photographer first? It certainly is expected for Greg’s hard work to be ravished by internet scallywags without any credit. California calling Brazil…hello, LIzzie?
As far as my photos are concerned, the fact that I have the negatives proves that I took them. I’m afraid there’s nothing to be done regarding Greg working on the photos and making them better: he didn’t take the photos, so he doesn’t have a right to a copyright. There might be an attorney among us who could explain this better.
Lizzie, thank you ever so kindly. I think there is a picture of John you should see at:
It’s called ‘French Twist’…
Well, if there’s copyright or not, the people should credit this blog. I’m sure that they don’t search the whole internet as you do. They come here, and post on Tumblr. I know there’s a lot of people who come here, but, credits are always good, huh?
Hi, nah i don’t want any credit, unless they’re pics i’ve taken, but i dont let those out, i’m just happy to put out better quality photo’s out there if i fix them, most of us with photo blogs just share off each others sites. What DOES suck is people who come, take the pics and sell them on ebay .. bad form.
I don’t know of any other site as good as this one. I just really wanted the subjective views. I am going to be resentful of anyone that lets Tammy do the work and then abuses it for unethical ends. Tammy has proven to be the sincere in her efforts to keep the Beatles fascinating and so much fun. I love it here. I will defend her to the end. I’m done…Thanx.
Here is the best place. Ever.
Didn’t Paul once say “we nick as much from others as they nick from us”? Would photos be any different than music? Not that it is always right but what are you going to do? Even watermarks on photos can now be erased. We kind of know that the photos here came from other sources.
And, besides… who else shows us as many Beatle crotch shots as Miss Tammy?
I try my best to credit Tammy blog and other places with the photos I post on my blog. Lately I have been under a bit of hot water with the whole copyright issue. In a way it sucks because I do not make any money off the blog and just do it for historical importance for Beatles fans–to preserve photos and memories and for fun! It is a difficult issue for sure!
I am glad that Tammy and I have an understanding and we take from each other’s blogs all of the time. The Beatle fans years back used to trade photos through the mail. I think the internet is the modern day way that we can still trade photos with each other.
Tammy’s blog is one of my top favs for sure! Although is it big headed of me to also really like my own? lol
Luv ya Grammy!
Of course people should credit the blog, and whenever I send any photos from here to my friends I include the link: you all know there’s a bunch of Brazilians either posting or lurking around here! Thank you for the John picture, Kwai, I had seen it before.
Many of the photos sent to this site come from a wide variety of sources that cannot always be credited. They can come from books, magazines, online auction sites, personal photos from fans and more. Hard to track drown the original photographer a lot of the time.
The photographer usually owns the copyright to a photograph, unless an agreement was made at the time the photograph was taken (e.g. that the photographer was engaged, paid specifically, and contracted to hand over the rights of the photo). The copyright in some photographs is sold on to a 3rd party – for example, an archive. Then there is the copyright on somebody’s image – for example, John’s image is owned by his estate, Marilyn Monroe’s image is owned by her estate. So, even if you own the copyright in the photo, you do not necessarily have the right to ‘do with it as you will’ – ie, use it in an advertising campaign. etc. The length of copyright ownership on a photograph may be 50 to 70 years (from first publishing) depending on what county you live in. Am I boring you yet….? As the usage of photographs on this site is ‘fan based’ and fairly ‘benign’ (and does not make any money for the site owner), I imagine that their usage would be ‘overlooked’ by the copyright holders – and if they had a problem, they would simply ask for the offending photo to be removed…
Thank you, Don Percy…and so eloquent…Harvard???
Thank you, Don, very good to know.
Getting back to the photo….what do the caption words mean?
What can I say Tammy, this picture was just asking for it!! XD
