Are you sure this is from 1970? Didn't George have a beard from 1969 till 1971? Those Beatles, they are always growing and shaving, growing and shaving….
George had the most beautiful hair. Hair to die for.
I have this as Christmas 1972. That is the date Chris O'Dell gives to the photograph.
The photo was taken Christmas of 1973 – the year George was clean shaven and growing out his hair long again. Chris O'Dell spent Christmas of 1973 with the Harrisons at Friar Park and New Years '73/'74 with the Starkeys at Tittenhurst Park and wrote lots about her visit in her book. Chris was not at Friar Park for Xmas 1970, '71, or '72.
That might be Terry Doran, George's personal assistant at the far right.

The tiles look to be inspired by one of George’s sweaters, or vice-versa. I love this photo. Never sawr it before.
