Norman Smith(?) & The Hurry Canes
    The surrealist, the surreal-est…and Sara
One more cup of Wight Lightning before the river flows…
Then, the group decided to loiter, linger and sing out of tune
For, they had become Nomadic and navigated via the heavenly bodies.
    “What’s the matter with us…
we don’t have much to say?
Ashes to ashes fun to funky
we know Eskimo Quinn’s a junkie
    strung out on islands, man
    hitting an all wight blow
    hitting an all time low”.
They had no leader but Alias seemed to be their guidance.

It ain’t gonna rain…turn it up!

I had to look twice to see Ringo there in the background!

Looks like he was photoshopped in!

  4. Also pictured it looks like
(second from left in the background)
is Long-time pal of all, Al Aronowitz

…who, in fact, first introduced Bob to Beatles.

  5. Lizzie says:

Same here, MarkZapp! I kept wondering where the Beatle was…

  6. A Car And A Room And A Room And A Room says:

L-R Ronald Foulk, Al Aronowitz, Barbara (Carol) Block, Bob Dylan, Ringo Starr, Sara Dylan, Bert Block

    Super fine research!

    Hi All,

Besides this (new to us) airport pic w/ Ringo, there is a photo of George & Bob on this wonderful site:

Wish there was a Sept 1, 1969 pic of Bob, Sara & George back at Tittenhurst Park w./ J&Y.

Fascinating to think that Bob Dylan would have put piano on Cold Turkey (along w/ Ringo on drums).

12 Days later (13-Sept) John, inspired by gathering at Isle of Wight, played live at Varsity Stadium “Live Peace in Toronto” w/ Eric, Blue Suede Shoes, etc…

I remember seeing those tennis pictures, about 4 years ago,and being amazed at the idea of it.

  10. Nick D. says:

I think the tennis photos are in the George Harrison book that Olivia produced a few years ago.

  11. is that one of Bob’s roadies back there? Oh, it’s Ringo :-)
