That bottom one is very cool.
Is that Abbey Road era?
Looks like he’s wearing the McCartney sleeve fleece in bottom photo. About Abbey Road time, Kwai
Or looking at it again, could be autumn 1968 before he started growing beard.
I was worried that it could be ‘Winged’ and not ‘Beatle’
Ewe know how he is!
yeah, I`ve seen couple of pictures from that day and I was wondering myself ever since. Greasy hair I was also betting on either post White Album or post Abbey Road period;
I recently saw a really nice photo of Paul(Apaullo) in a spacesuit…I think it may have been circa 1966 but I’m unsure since it was just him. Does anyone know if the other three Kings Of EMI were flying the NASA colors that day. I think Avedon took the picture. So, I guess it may have been the same session that produced the Solarized(LOOK) & LoveSongs(also LOOK) iconic shots.
…but, if it’s not, then, does that mean there’s another whole Avedon session?
I always assumed that there was only ever a single session with him. But, why? He is one of the best photographers of Rock and Roll. And, (while I’m ranting) did anyone in L.A. ever think to steer the band toward Joel Brodsky for pictures? Brodsky sent Jim Morrison to Jay Sebring for a ‘wash and perm’ and then proceeded to photograph the session with The Doors that produced ‘The Young Lion’ pictures of Jim/group that were used on the covers of their self-titled debut AND sophomore effort Strange Days. That these were the pictures that would haunt Jimbo the rest of his life would only be a hopeful prospect where The Beatles are concerned. I realize that post-Manilla Los Angeles might have NOT been a good time for such things…but the same way Avedon scheduled them would have been sufficient.
No space suits on the others, I’m almost certain it was two sessions, 66-67, but Datey and Hyacinth have a better handle on that.
Isn’t the last one from the Something video?
Pretty sure no Linda pics of Macca in Scotland pre date(y) 1969.
He has a beard in the Something video, Mark C, and that was filmed autumn 1969
Was the pic def taken in Scotland, Tam?
I can picture that jacket never leaving Campbelltown…
I wouldn`t be very surprised..
