It’s more of Ayyyyyy and was taken in 1974
Brilliant. That’s a couple of weird dreams come true right there.
Just need a Carry-On one and I’m there, matron.
“Harry Nilsson lookalike sells Julian Lennon to the Fonz”.
Wow, talk about two worlds colliding. There’s a picture I never thought I’d see
This photo spread across the internet so fast the other day !
Wow! Are you kidding me! Great shot and very unexpected
One of the rarest solo pics to ever surface!!
And yes it was taken on the “Happy Days” set at Paramount Studios in Jan 1974 while Julian was on holidays visiting John and May in L.A.
Now where’s a pic of when the Fonz met Paul on a New York Street a couple of years later???
Wow. I never thought I’d see this pic either. I’d heard about the visit to the Happy Days set, but have never, never never seen any pix of it. Now all we need is a pic of John and David Cassidy (singing Beatle songs together on New Year’s Eve) courtesy of Elliott Minz.
Free lunch at Denny’s?
I guess it’s possible that this was strictly for the son.
Wow, thanks so much for sharing. : ) What a great and adorable picture. : )
So cute. I love this.
John’s got a hunk-a-hunka burnin’ love look, thankyouverymuch
Potsie is sandwiched by cool… yet he still looks like a nerd!
A Happy Night On My Way To The Troubadour…
The more I think about it…
Why/how would Julian be into Happy Days?
Was the show picked up by the BBC during its first run?
I don’t know how Julian could have understood the satire/context?
Most likely, this was a field trip for Dad.
With Nilsson as available support at the local level…
We should all be thankful that there wasn’t a lot wilder oats getting sown (adults must be accompanied by minor)
The End Of The Plastic Ono Politik!!!
Photo courtesy of May Pang and posted on her Fan Page. May Pang’s caption:
“I was sent this photo recently. This was taken when John and I took Julian to Paramount Studios for a tour on his first trip to LA. We happened to stumble upon the set of HAPPY DAYS. It was their first season of the show and the actors were surprised by our onstage walk on.”
(Left to right) Donnie Most, Ron Howard, John Lennon, Anson Williams, Julian Lennon and Henry Winkler.
Julian flew to Los Angeles on December 26, 1973 for a visit with John during his school holiday break – returning to England in early January 1974. HAPPY DAYS debuted in the US on January 15, 1974. Julian would not have been familiar with it, since it hadn’t yet aired.
John looks like the love child of Nilsson and Michael Caine.
What can I say here that everyone else hasn’t already said? Great photo, totally unexpected, ultra rare, ultra cool… Just another reason to keep coming back to this site over and over!!!! Thanx so much to May Pang or whoever for sending this out.
Thanks for the insight!
Was the L.A./May vacation completely devoid of ‘sin’?
(Can we assume that John may have made emotional investments in L.A.,
but, that NO romantic dividends were realized through it all???)
I’m not talking about May…but, rather…ALL other release of tension and related personnel. Otherwise, the Universal Studios Tour sounds like a highlight…of a grueling loneliness that seems ironic for a Beatle. At least John felt no inclination to slip into a KOTEX and throw punches at Joni Cunningham(Erin Moran).
A few years earlier…we might have been cursed by a fate of “Fonzie In The Sky With Diamonds”…(Good God!!!)
in almost every photo as a youngster Julian rarely smiled……kinda sad. No doubt he had his reasons. Well explained by him in various interviews over the years.
Happy Days Night?
