wow, what an amazing find, miss tammy! never seen this one before. i have to send it to a friend of mine in the south of brazil immediately: even though you can’t see it in this photo, at that party he was wearing a necklace she sent him and i handed to him outside the studios. i wanted to use a photo from that day in my book, and also one of george in mmt where he is wearing the brazilian necklace my other friend sent him and denise and i handed to him also outside emi but i don’t know how to find out who owns the copyright and it probably costs a fortune.
Lizzie, I found that found months ago…..I thought everyone had seen it or I would have sent it to you. Sorry! But it came from getty images, but I would guess that it costs fortune. Can you see the necklace in any of photos from this party?
I’ve always wondered that too, BeatleAL – maybe Patti’s costume was just too sizzling. Lizzie, yes this was the party where Paul and Jane were dressed as a Cockney Pearly King and Queen. Alex – Paul dressed in the Confederate soldier’s outfit at a fancy dress party on 8th January 1967 when John and Paul attended the 21st birthday party of Carmen Jiminez, Georgie Fame’s girlfriend at the Cromwellian Club in Kensington, London. John came dressed as an Elmer Gantry-style priest.
hi sara, yes, there are two other photos from that night where you can clearly see the necklace. needless to say, my friend was extremely happy that he wore it – he actually had it on when he came out of the studios that night. when i gave him the box (she gave me strict orders not to open the box or touch the necklace) with stamps and all, he shook it and said “rice, it’s rice!”. she wrote back yesterday and was happy to see another photo and know he was wearing her gift – even if you can’t see it.
Thanks guys, I stand corrected. Now that you mentioned it car, I remember John dressed as a priest , he had his Sgt. Pepper moustache, that is the party where Paul is a confederate and yess Lizzie now that you mentioned it I remember the picture of Paul with his arm around Jane Asher all pearly.

Yes that’s the launch party for MMT. John was badly behaved. He got a public scolding from Lulu who was dressed like Shirley Temple.

thanks, a car, and i remember the photos from the party where john went as a priest. it was only a few days before i arrived in london.
No photos of George, Pattie, or Cynthia have ever been published from the MMT party. Never seen them. Would love to.
