Always hearing how these rehearsals exist on videotape in the Sullivan archives. But to my knowledge, they’ve never made an appearance. Would be so cool to see them singing these songs in ‘casual’ attire, and no doubt ‘goofing around’ a bit!
Hi Don Percy, I agree – would love to know – or better still, see – the extent of the Sullivan Rehearsal archives. There is a film copy of the Deauville afternoon rehearsal (from 16.2.64) doing the rounds but a not very good quality tele-recording (or kinescopes in the US) on film. Would love to see a video version – if it exists.
The Americanization Of Paul McCartney
I wonder if George and Paul are carrying guitar cases…
I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a Beatle carrying a guitar case…
Love these, gives a whole other perspective on the Miami rehearsals.
John is carrying a Fender-style tweed oblong case. Probably the new Ricky, which was delivered to him here in Miami, and first used for the broadcast.
The top photo is fascinating. I, too, wondered where Mal was. I don’t think I ever saw A Beatle carrying a guitar case. Interesting to see them walking through a public place and not some back elevator entrance.
We feel really ordinary when we’re in the eye of the hurricane!
