The appearance (from America) of a 16mm Kine of the Hollies TOTP performance of Bus Stop from 1966 gives further hope that somebody, somewhere out there probably has a kine of this performance (mimed tho’ it may have been). I’ll bet they know exactly what it is they have, and are holding it close to their hearts…

Oh Please, she was a groupie for Christ sake. And if she had come from a poor backround, Paul would have never married her. He liked the fact the she didn’t really need his money. He was so into moving up in the social register he started to despise girls from poor backrounds. The truth hurts ! Her Dad had a lot of show-biz clients that got her in the door and backstage as a photographer. I will give her this though, she probably got some of the best Beatle photos ever, hands down. Look, I’m not trying to put her down but she just happened to be in the right place at the right time.

Bluesdude, actually I do believe that knowing more about an artist’s circumstances and struggles can add another layer to our appreciation of his work. Not always, of course. I mean, you don’t need to know anything about Stravinsky to appreciate “The Rite of Spring.” But I do find it the case with Shostakovich, say, or Beethoven. Not necessarily the bitter custody fight over his nephew to which you’ve alluded, but the deafness certainly. When it comes to John Lennon, because so much of John’s work was so confessional, it’s difficult to separate those layers. Some of that backstory might lead you to conclude he was a filthy hypocrite — or it might lead you to view him with more compassion.

Oh, and going way back to Paul being the cutest baby, didn’t his dear old dad say just the opposite? Just goes to show people can change. : )

Hi, thanks everyone, i don’t want to go into what is happening, suffice to say that family, their care and support is more important than anything, and so that is what i have to, and want to focus on at the moment. I want to reiterate that this isn’t one of those times where you see a ‘Just taking a short break’ posts on a website, and you never see, nor hear from them again, the Fabs, pics, and friends on this site is too important to let go. For the time being i literally don’t have time to eat, let alone sort and work on pics, and i don’t want to do it half assed. So, when i can, and as soon as i can, i’ll be back posting. xoxo
